Students participate in a PowerPoint lesson on plankton prior to the evening meal. Students learn about phytoplankton, zooplankton, stages in the life cycle and the food web.
After dinner, students access the Inspiration hub to view pre caught samples.
Students then view the plankton using microscopes and are fascinated by the different types or features of the plankton.
Year 5/6 example: What do plankton look like and why do we need them?
Australian Curriculum link: Living things have structural features and adaptions that help them to survive in their environment.
