The centre first aid room is equiped with a range of equipment including the flying doctor medical kit. Staff members are fully trained to deal with medical emergencies.
Above: Helicopter landing zone for emergency evacuations
This area is designated the helicopter landing zone for emergency evacuations. It can be used day or night with flashing lights available to guide the helicopter. Regular practices are conducted by the rescue services.

The RACQ Capricorn Rescue Helicopter supports the centre and only takes minutes to travel from its base to the island.

External fresh water showers are used after snorkelling to assist visitors to clean up. Water conservation is an important request to all users.

Above: The camp fire
The camp fire area is used by some visiting school groups to cook damper and experience after dark singing or story telling. These activities are supervised at all times by teaching staff.
The greenhouse has been updated with signage and educational instructions inside to teach how composting food waste should be approached.
